The Water Dog looks as though she is very comfortable being squeezed into a small space.Ihope the Montana prople use the parts for good use. They, Montana people, are very good at using left overs.

Hi Carol,

So GOOD to hear from you. Please give L my best regards. I hope he is doing better since his painful back surgery.

You are so right when it comes to Montana folks utilizing as much as possible. They have taken most everything they can. Unfortunately many of the windows broke because they were put in long ago and the casings cracked.

Lauren is still not doing well. Most days he can hardly walk as the hip and leg are so painful.. I'm beginning to think that there is a problem with a hip.

What were the Montana folks going to build with the house parts?

It sounds as though you and Ron have an interisting project planned? Will they be able to work during the Winter?

I am very sorry to learn about Lauren’s pain. Has he tried icing it every morning? Does he go to PT?

Regarding the repurposing of the cabin pieces—One young couple took most of the roof, 4 windows, the front door and other pieces of wood to use when they build their house. They also took all the cabinet doors. Their parents took all of the screens and doors from the screened porch. His brother took the tub.

He is going to PT now and comes home more sore. It will take time, I am sure, as they said that healing could take up to a year. He is VERY impatient. I am certain that age (89) is playing a part in this healing.

I have been trying to keep up with the mowing, gsrdening(very small this year). What doesn't get done is not important at this stage of our lives.

I hope that you get to see the parts of the house when they are used in their "new" buildings.

It is so hard to get older and have body parts not working well and causing pain. I hope we get to see the "parts" in place too.

This project will not be quick out here in Montana where there are limited tradesmen.

In my memory the old shell wasn't so bad, so I can't wait to see the "new and improved!" I'll look forward to the christening! Cheers!

We did have fun there as long as we could sit outside. Remember, you and Betty were in the Guest House! Now that structure is comfortable.

This reminds me of a few guys I know who refer to their first or even second wife with similar observations.

“I say fortunate because not much else about this odd architectural creation was workable. Remodeled by a previous owner several times, the house was built by one woman who, we are told, built it for one occupant—herself”

No disrespect intended.

I’m sorry I didn’t get to visit the cabin but I’m sure the new house will be more hospitable for your guests and for my buddy, Sugar Pi!
